Bridal Pearls

With raspberry-scented and sun-kissed June came the long-awaited wedding season. One of our friends and long-time supporters said “I do” to her fiancé last weekend. What a party it was!

The beautiful bride chose a layered strapless wedding gown that enhanced her lovely feminine curves and wore a veil with lace details that accentuated her smooth low-set chignon. Naturally, she picked pearls to complement her classy look! They were not any pearls, but our simple yet feminine Ariel pearl earrings. The two white pearl droplets were playfully dancing with every move of the bride and the long chains on which the pearls had been set were sending sparkles as gleaming as her smile.

Beautiful smile of a beautiful pearl-adorned bride!

We were truly honored to be chosen to fulfill the bride’s dream of a perfect wedding look, and we hope to make more as happy as she in the future!

Congratulations to newlyweds Laurence and Nicolas!

Bride Alert: Pearl Necklaces and Wedding Gowns

Are you in love? Are you getting married soon? Do you have troubles accessorizing the dress of your dreams? The match made in heaven does not need to refer only to your relationship. We have prepared an easy guide to help you with your jewelry choices.

Nothing completes better a wedding gown and adds to its glamour than a well-chosen piece of jewelry. Pearls are considered as essential in bride’s and bridesmaids’ wardrobe. They symbolize love, purity and are believed to bring happiness and prosperity to marriage.

True, not all brides pick pearls (oh, well, Kate, we forgive you, because you looked gorgeous anyway), but the versatility of pearl jewelry makes the choice easier for many. The safest approach is to follow the neckline of your gown with the shape of your necklace. A correctly chosen pearl jewel should not stand out too much and enhance your natural beauty instead of overwhelming it.

What if you don’t want to follow the classics and are willing to choose something more wowing than a simple strand? Here are some ideas for those of you who went for a strapless gown. (For the article about pearl necklace matches for V-neck and halter wedding dresses click here.)

Strapless neckline includes sweetheart and tube décolletés. It emphasizes your shoulders and the neck region. The right pearl wedding jewelry helps to compliment the top line of the dress and draws attention to your face. Many necklace styles work well with the strapless dress: close to the neck ras-du-cou, large pearl chokers resting at the collar bone and pearl necklaces in princess length are a good match.

Multi-strand necklaces are also a great choice for the strapless wedding gown as long as you keep the necklace length at least one inch above the dress’ neckline to avoid overcrowding. A word of advice: remember that there are other pearl shapes than round that are great for the big day. We absolutely love petal-shaped keshi pearls that bring this extra-feminine sparkle to your neckline.

Lariats and simple pendants are great with sweetheart neckline as they imitate the top line of this type of wedding gowns. Although they also work for other strapless dresses, the lariats might be tricky if they go too low and touch the dress’ neckline. A general rule for bridal pendants is or to keep it short above the neckline or go in the opposite direction and use ultra-long chains and statement pearl pendants to enhance the bustier part of the dress.

If you are not the biggest fan of necklaces, you might opt for chandelier earrings and an opulent bracelet instead. After all, the most important thing in choosing your wedding wardrobe is that you feel your beautiful and relaxed self in the first place! No bridezillas allowed!

Match made in heaven: what jewellery with what neckline

Many weddings are planned for summer, but June is THE month to get married. It is hot, but not too hot. It is full of energy and positive feelings. More than that, June was actually named after Greek goddess Juno (or Hera in Roman mythology), the goddess of marriage and a married couple's homes. Marring in her month is believed to bring good luck to the couple.

Not by coincidence, June is also the month of pearls. It is said that pearls bring luck to those who were born in June. But most importantly for us, pearls are the ideal adornment for beautiful brides. Shimmery, innocent, and feminine, they had been incorporated in wedding gowns for centuries. Many women simply cannot imagine their bridal accessories to be made of other stones than pearls.

However, when it comes to choosing jewellery that matches the best our gowns, we sometimes get stuck in picking the most flattering type of jewels to complement the dress of our dreams.
